What’s in the dataset?
Two things side by side, one row per UTC day. First, what Bitcoin mining is expected to earn: hashprice, worked out from the blocks themselves, with the network figures behind it. Second, what that same mining power costs to rent on the two public marketplaces. Put together, they show how the hashpower market prices mining day by day.
From the chain
Hashprice in BTC and USD, network hashrate, difficulty, fee share.
From the market
NiceHash and MiningRigRentals rental prices, in the same unit as hashprice.
What fields does it have?
| Field | Unit | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
date | YYYY-MM-DD | The UTC day the row describes. |
hashprice_btc_per_ph_day | BTC per PH/s per day | Expected mining revenue of 1 PH/s for a day, from that day’s blocks. Gross, before costs. |
hashprice_usd_per_th_day | USD per TH/s per day | The same, in dollars per TH/s, at that day’s BTC price. |
nicehash_btc_per_ph_day | BTC per PH/s per day | NiceHash’s public price to get an SHA-256 order filled, daily mean. |
mrr_btc_per_ph_day | BTC per PH/s per day | Cheapest MiningRigRentals rig passing our quality filter, daily mean. |
network_hashrate_eh | EH/s | Network hashrate implied by difficulty. |
difficulty | number | Mean mining difficulty of the day’s blocks. |
fees_share_pct | % | Transaction fees as a share of all block rewards that day. |
Numbers are plain decimals, never in exponent form. The JSON also carries as_of (when the figures were read), methodology_version and a latest object with today’s live values plus btc_usd.

The same series drawn as charts: hashprice history and rental prices against hashprice.
How is it calculated?
- USD per TH/s per day is hashprice times that day’s BTC/USD price, divided by 1,000.
- Network hashrate is implied by difficulty: difficulty × 2³² ÷ 600 seconds.
- Fee share is the day’s total fees over its total block rewards.
- NiceHash is the plain daily mean of NiceHash’s public price to get an order filled on its SHA-256 market.
- MiningRigRentals is the daily mean of the cheapest listed rig with a reliability score of 90 or more, a hashrate history that checks out, not excluded for poor delivery, and a minimum rental of 100 hours or less.
Market prices are what hashpower costs to rent, not what anyone earns. The full write-up, with why each choice was made, is in the hashpower market guide.
How often is it updated?
| What | When |
|---|---|
| Today’s row | Updates through the day as blocks and market samples arrive |
| Finished days | Close at 00:00 UTC; normally left as they are |
| This page and its preview | Refreshed about every 10 minutes |
| Methodology | Version 1. Any change to a definition bumps the number |
What licence is it under?
Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). You can copy, share, chart, remix and build on it, commercially too. The one condition is credit: name CloudMineCrypto, link to this page, and say if you changed the data.
How should I cite it?
CloudMineCrypto. Bitcoin hashprice and hashpower market, daily (methodology v1). https://cloudminecrypto.com/data. Licensed under CC BY 4.0. Accessed 28 September 2026.
In a chart caption, “Source: CloudMineCrypto open data (CC BY 4.0)” with a link to this page is plenty.
How do I fetch it from code?
Both endpoints take days, from 1 to 3,650. Without it you get the last 90 days.
Frequently asked questions
Is the data free to use commercially?
Yes. CC BY 4.0 allows any use, commercial included, as long as you credit CloudMineCrypto and link to this page.
Do I need an API key?
No. The JSON and CSV links are public. Please cache what you fetch, since the figures change at most a few times an hour.
Why are some cells empty?
A value is empty when we had no reliable reading for that day, for example before we started recording a marketplace or when a feed went quiet. We never fill gaps with guesses.
Is this what CloudMineCrypto users earn?
No. These are network figures and public market prices. They say nothing about any user’s rewards, and a CloudMineCrypto plan isn’t a share of this hashpower.
How far back does it go?
Hashprice and network figures go back as far as our history reaches; market prices start from the day we began recording each marketplace. The first row with any data is the start of the file.
